Frequently Asked Questions

Is the tension adjustable?

The secret of The DB Method’s signature “deep burn” is its pre-set resistance system of 275 lbs.
The controlled resistance is scientifically tuned to create an isolated and controlled movement that gets deep into the muscles to tone, tighten, and sculpt your body. The reason the resistance shouldn't be increased is because it would actually make the exercise easier by pushing you up on the ascend instead of activating your glutes to do the hard work.

Can you get a full body workout on The DB Method?

YES! When in squat mode, you work your entire lower body and core. We also designed the machine to be a total body workout, so you can target your arms, abs, obliques and chest at any time. See our Facebook and YouTube pages for full body workout moves and videos.

Is assembly required?

• Assembly is minimal, no tools required. It’s easy, we promise!

• An assembly manual and online assembly video provide step-by-step support on our YouTube Page.

How hard is the workout?

The workouts are as easy or as hard as you wish to make it. It’s great for all fitness levels and grows with you as you get stronger. Don’t let the seat fool you! The resistance is in the seat so you’re actively engaging your butt, core and leg muscles throughout the squat motion – on both the ascent and descent. The handrails are there to keep balance only and the less you rely on them the stronger your stabilizers – hips, glutes, and core - are.

What are the dimensions of the machine?

• When assembled the machine measures 45 ½” long x 20” wide x 39 ½” high.

• When folded the machine is 7” at its highest point.

Can you add weight like a squat rack?

The DB Method's modified squat form means your glutes are isolated with precision, without the need for heavy weights that bulk you up rather than tone and shape your booty. Think of The DB Method as more aligned to a Pilates or Barre workout where your body is elongated into every move.

When first starting out with The DB Method you’ll find the intensity of your derriere, rather than your legs, suddenly doing all the hard work is all you can handle. Once you perfected your form and rediscovered those gluteal muscles, you can take your workout to the next level with our newly released weighted belt, The DreamBelt. By placing The DreamBelt at your hips, you are able to maintain our signature form while making it harder on the way up and down. It is also a great addition to many exercises off the machine!

Why do you call it a “modified” squat?

It is a twist on the traditional squat, which is why we call it a "modified" squat. With The DB Method we shift your body's center of gravity, isolating the glutes to make them (not the legs) the star of your workout, while reducing stress on the knees and back.
